WOW!! Warm temps and LOTS of SUNSHINE!!

It's been a GREAT summer-in-spring kind of week, and we've gotten LOTS of yard work done, in SPITE of being distracted by all of the blooming flowers and trees!

Just had enuf time to turn the flower beds and rake the last of the leaves and sticks, so treating the lawn can't be far behind!

Stay in touch!

WEEKLONG SUNSHINE!!

well, it's Tuesday and it's been sunny since the weekend! what a GREAT THING!

LOTS of being outside and using muscles I haven't used in a while (ugh!) but got the raking done and dug up some dirt!

now to get down to the nursery and pick out the brightest colors I can find!

so, what kind of fertilizer do you recommend? natural? organic? chemical?

...good GROWING!

weekend + sunshine = YIPPEE!!

well whadayaknow???

looks like we're in for a beautful weekend, with warm temperatures and sunny skies!!

time for beautiful birds, planting flowers and cooking up some favorite low carb recipes!

...AND time for for softball practice, FINALLY!!

let me know how your weekend turns out!

I'm REALLY looking forward to this one!

back to REALITY!

so today it's back the 40's and being inside and still no rain (at least to speak of; there was a little 'sprinkle' last night, but not enuf) to now we're into more wait and see...

Forecast for the weekend says sun and "mild" which here means "anything from 40's to 60's.

more time for raking and repairing.

but at least we can enjoy the beautiful birds!

...ahhhhh Michigan!

my GOODNESS!!

so I get home from work, and it is 65 degrees!! Just last week we had SNOW, several inches of it, and now it's 65 degrees. MARVELOUS!

and I dug out the rake and pulled the finally-uncovered leaves and sticks and crud from underneath the bushes that survived the winter and tossed them in the trash.

the earth is even beginning to SMELL! you know, that DIRT smell, that cannot realistically be described. all we need now is RAIN, and then worms and then GREEN.

green leaves, green grass, green tomatoes...and
beautiful flowers!

We've waited so long.

is it SPRING yet??

Gardening in Michigan

Here it is APRIL and the snow is just now melting away! so now what? we haven't had enuf rain in Michigan to keep the dust down, so either we're in for a month of showers, or we'll turn into the dust bowl!

Either way, we won't be planting (or even turning the soil) anything until May, at least. And then maybe I'll have a chance to put in some flowers and vegetables into the garden.

Anyway, happy SPRING... finally!
